Today's Weather: A Cool Patch

Say goodbye to the 70s and welcome back to standard autumn temperatures starting today. Monday's official high was the warmest on that date in 15 years. Today's forecast calls for highs in the lower 60s and mostly cloudy skies. (Accuweather is taking a rose-colored glasses approach and predicting partly sunny skies. Always be contrary.)
The cooldown comes on gusty west winds and is the first of several cold fronts to reach the Chicago area as the week progresses. The chill will reach its low point, fittingly, on Halloween where Skilling Central says the mercury may not cross the mid-40s. If that forecast holds there will be a lot of silly girls in "sexy" costumes freezing their tuchuses solid Friday.
