2014_10_30PTI2.jpg If you're in the mood to grab a new spooky read from a local author, head over to Cole's this evening for the release party of Normal Avenue by Alex Bonner. Local independent publisher Back To Print teamed up with Bonner to release both his (and the publishing house's) first novel. The story tells the tale of Billy Gilardi entering his new boarding school, Ravenswood Academy, situated on Normal Avenue where a lot of not-so-normal things happen. To read more about the book, check out an interview with Bonner and Back To Print co-founder Eliz Tieri over on LoganSquarist.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the book has been published and fans who contributed can pick up their pre-ordered copy tonight. Or for those who are just now finding out about the book, can grab a copy fresh off the press. The party kicks off at 7 p.m. tonight at Cole's (2338 N. Milwaukee Ave). There will be a costume contest for those who want to start their competitive costuming a night early this year and local band Stoop Goodnoise will play as well. The event is free.
