It's a new day in Illinois (and we'll discuss more about our governor-elect in a few moments) and the weather will at least be pleasant before a chill arrives—take that figuratively and literally.
The sun is shining bright as we type this at Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters but clouds are expected to return heading into the afternoon while the highs are expected to reach 60 degrees. Those clouds will give way to some scattered showers this evening and overnight with lows in the mid-40s.
When we wake up Thursday we need to brace ourselves for a wonderfully sloppy mix of rain and snow coupled with gusty winds, a repeat of Halloween's weather. The extended forecasts from Skilling Central and Accuweather have us in store for standard November weather: cool and crisp.
