I'll Take You There, the book about Mavis Staples, the Staple Singers and how their music shaped the Civil Rights era written by Tribune rock critic and "Sound Opinions" co-host Greg Kot, is being released in paperback. To help promote the release, Kot and local music critic/historian Aaron Cohen will have a Q&A at City Lit Books 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12. Cohen, whose book Aretha Franklin's Amazing Grace looks at Aretha Franklin's return to her Gospel roots, and Kot, will go back and forth about the Staples, Aretha and Chicago soul. (2523 N. Kedzie Blvd.)
