Winter is here, people. That means the time for being outside has gone, as we surrender to the long days and nights of being trapped inside, right? Wrong!

The best laid plans of staying in shape are so easily thwarted by the wind, snow, and temperatures of Chicago winters—but not this year. Winters here may be colder and last longer than many other places, but that simply means it's that much more important to find something to do that breaks routine and gets you active. Need more convincing? Elle Woods has some pretty foolproof logic about the importance of exercise in keeping you upbeat and stabilizing your mood.

Whether you find a gym or join a running club, there are tons of great ways to stay active this winter and have fun while doing it. For example, The Scout (who you may remember from a "Best of" list) hosts a free running club every Tuesday evening that runs year-round.

This weekend, we bring you a precisely curated list of tracks to help you get moving and keep it that way, from warm up to cool down.
