Holiday Food And Drink Classes

Ever wondered how Katherine Ann makes her delicious signature truffles? Or how to decorate cookies like a pro? Or how to can fruits and vegetables? These holiday classes can help improve your whole family's festive cooking skills.

Dec. 6: Cookie Decorating At Kendall College (900 N. North Branch St) Children can enjoy a 2-hour cookie workshop for kids ages 4-12 led by chef instructors from the college. Tickets are $20 and available here.

Dec. 6: Hot Water Canning: Homemade Holiday Gifts at Fearless Food Kitchen (5917 N. Broadway St.) Learn the basics of hot water bath canning to make great holiday gifts like savory cranberry relish with apples, pears and crystallized ginger. The class is $55 a person and includes the relish to take home.

Dec. 14: Noël aux fruits confits family cooking class at Alliance Française de Chicago (54 W. Chicago Avenue) At this parent and child (ages 7-10) cooking class learn how to make Noël aux fruits confits, a simple, but delicious French holiday cake filled with fruits and spices. It's $30 per pair and call the Alliance to register. Check out more of their classes here.

Dec. 18: Holiday Truffle Making Party at Katherine Ann (2745 W. Armitage Ave) Learn how to design and make your own truffles in this fun class for adults. Tickets are $60 and include wine and light appetizers.
