It took me a while to find another dog I wanted to adopt and now that I have one in my life again I wished I searched sooner. The folks at Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance are one of many no kill shelters around town looking to place abandoned dogs in loving homes.

Head to Jerry's Andersonville today where they're hosting a "Pints for Pets" promotion with proceeds from tonight's food and drink sales benefiting Famous Fido's efforts. Featured drafts include Goose Island Lilith, Dark Horse Scotty Karate, 3 Sheeps Cashmere Hammer and Flying Dog Barrel-Aged Gonzo, a raffle featuring wonderful prizes will be held and artists Marcy Anderson and Ana Hurm will be on hand to encourage any pet owners in the crowd to get some artwork featuring their best friends commissioned. The promotion runs from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. (5419 N. Clark St.)

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Melissa McEwen (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
