Do This: Pozolada 2014

By Melissa McEwen in Food on Dec 2, 2014 8:30PM

If you've never had pozole, maybe it's easiest to compare it to ramen. Both are hearty soups filled with a wealth of flavors. The equivalent of ramen's noodles in pozole is hominy, a type of fat chewy corn kernels. It's a dish that's a perfect prescription for winter cold or hangovers. You can try over 30 different versions at Pozolada 2014 on Saturday Dec. 6 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m at Local 399 Union Hall (2260 S. Grove St.).

General admission is $60 pre-paid or $75 at the door. Youth ages 5 to 12 are $15 and a VIP option with early admission is also available. Tickets available here.
