Pencil This In: Vintage Latin Records Swap
By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 3, 2014 6:30PM
Crate diggers looking to add some mambo, merengue, cumbia and salsa to vintage vinyl collection should head to the Segundo Ruis Belvis Cultural Center Friday, Dec. 5 for a vintage Latin Records swap. The Color Brown and Soulphonetics will play and the Sonorama DJ collective will spin tunes before, between and after the bands do their thing. Browse, play and purchase records from Agúzate's Funky Vellonera, including rescued music from garage sales, flea markets, old jukeboxes and abandoned collections in Puerto Rico and Chicago, while collectors are welcome to trade and sell their LPs and 45s. The event starts at 8:15 p.m. (4048 W. Armitage Ave.)
