As of post time there are limited seats still available for The Blind Boys of Alabama's Christmas show Thursday, Dec. 11 at City Winery Chicago. Why should you go? Because it's The Blind Boys of Alabama, first and foremost. If you've never seen them live, you should. They would make an atheist rise to his feet and believe in a god.

Second, they're touring in support of their new album Talkin’ Christmas! so expect a lot of new songs along with standards. Third, have we ever mentioned how pristine the acoustics at City Winery are? You can hear a pin drop in that space if it's mic'ed well. (1200 W. Randolph St.)

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Melissa McEwen (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
