The holidays have come early for indie rock and emo fans. Braid front man Bob Nanna's side project, The City On Film will release a new album on Dec. 16, but fans can take a listen now via Vice's Noisey.

The record entitled La Vella is the only the second full length release in The City On Film's discography, following 2007's In Formal Introduction. The band, which was born out of a Braid hiatus, has always been a deeply personal side project for Nanna and his fans. For this new release many of tracks lyrics are inspired by fan-submitted stories from the site Downwrite.com, which Nanna co-founded with fellow Chicago songwriter, Mark Rose of Spitalfield.

For The City On Film fans who want to check out these new tracks live, tickets are now available for the Chicago stop of their tour tour at The Beat Kitchen on Jan. 15.

La Vella is now also available for pre-order from Topshelf Records and makes an excellent stocking stuffer any longtime Braid or Hey Mercedes fans.
