Today's Hits Does Christmas At The Whistler

2014_12_12_today's_hits_poster.jpg It’s not feeling a whole lot like Christmas right now, what with it being less than a fortnight from the big day and a warm spell making its way for a visit this weekend.

Fortunately, Today’s Hits, the lo-fi garage pop project headed by local James Swanberg, is celebrating the season with a Christmastime show this Sunday.

Swanberg will be backed by a special holiday group performing the band's December 2012 collection of Christmas love songs “Todays Christmas” (stream it for free over at Bandcamp).

It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys a daydreamy, faraway croon backed by jingle-jangle strumming and an infectiously catchy tune, not to mention those who like a good sing-along—Swanberg will be providing lyric printouts so everyone can join in. You can also expect to hear songs by the act's garage pop companions Slushy and The Lemons as well as some of Today’s Hits favorites over the years.

Today's Hits play Sunday, Dec. 14 at The Whistler, 2421 N Milwaukee, 9:30 p.m., free, 21+
