Morning Box Score: Islanders Snap Blackhawks Win Streak

The Blackhawks almost had a victory on their hands, thanks to a "wicked backhand" from Patrick Kane almost four minutes into the third period of Saturday night's game against the New York Islanders. Had the Hawks pulled ahead, they would have won their ninth game in a row. Already, they're the first team in the NHL to reach 20 wins this hockey season, so that's an accomplishment.
Their win streak of eight games is a season high. Despite those good things, a loss is a loss. Thanks to two goals from Islanders players less than a minute apart, the Islanders pulled ahead of the Blackhawks for a 3-2 win. The Blackhawks now fell out of first place since the St. Louis Blues won Saturday. Video highlights below:
