Drury Lane's 'Camelot.'
Skip the more traditional Christmas shows this week and check out a couple of updated musical classics and a live version of everyone's favorite holiday movie.
Cinderella
The touring production of the recent Broadway revival (kind of) takes a few liberties with the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, but all in the name of modernizing a once-creaky classic. The show runs through Sunday, Jan. 4.
Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St., 312-384-1502 or online.
Camelot
Lerner and Loewe’s stage version of the infamous love triangle between King Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot is getting a fresh reboot over at Drury Lane, long known for its rather faithful adaptations of musical theater classics. The show runs through Sunday, Jan. 4.
100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, 630-530-8300 or online.
It's a Wonderful Life
The American Blues Theater brings back their beloved version of It’s a Wonderful Life, which is staged just like the original radio broadcast from the 1940s, retro commercials and all. The show runs through Sunday, Dec. 28.
American Blues Theater at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., 773-404-7336 or online.
