Last Christmas Eve we were over the weather, which was bitter cold and brought us a white Christmas. This year we're still over it because the clouds and gloom are back after a brief respite Tuesday. It's raining now, which is expected to turn into wet snow by the time you have your first (third?) egg nog this afternoon. Expect highs to be where they're at now, in the low 40s.

Skilling, Accuweather, et al, still predict a white Christmas, but it won't be as deep as it was last year and the sun will be shining. At least we hope or otherwise families across the area may have to tap into the liquor reserves. It should be cold enough Christmas Day to chill your cases of Old Style on the back stoop.

We'll be here for a little while today. Stay with us, won't you?
