Welcome to the first weekend of 2015. We made it! It's easy to lose the enthusiasm for the new year once the confetti and champagne have been cleaned up and we prepare to head back to business as usual. But what if you want to keep that excitement going?

Well, look no further: As we head into a new year, there is a long list of movies and TV— and, for our purposes, especially music—that will be released in the coming months that guarantee to keep you excited. For example, Sleater-Kinney will drop their first album in 10 years this month and Bob Dylan will release his 36th album a month from today.

On the opposite end of the music spectrum, pop star Meghan Trainor's full album, Title, will finally be available, as will a new Adele album and new stuff from Mark Ronson. (Raise your hand if you heard "Uptown Funk" and can't wait for more).

With the hope of keeping you excited well into this new year, the playlist this week features just a fraction of the tons of new music to get jazzed for.

The selection is made up primarily of artists' most recent singles that are likely to appear on forthcoming albums, with a few exceptions. [Bad Religion, for instance.] Take some time to peruse a few lists, perhaps the two linked in above, and start marking your calendars. It's going to be another great year for music.
