Pencil This In: Soup And Bread 2015 Kicks Off At Hideout

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Jan 5, 2015 6:35PM

Soup and Bread, Martha Bayne's and Sheila Sachs' long-running winter dining series with a charitable bent, kicks off its seventh year 5:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at Hideout. Publican Quality Meats, as they have the past several years, will donate bread and guest cooks include Anastasia Davies Hinchsliff and folks from Local Foods, Celestial Kitchens, Milk & Honey, and Graze magazine. Bloodshot Records co-owner Rob Miller will spin tunes throughout. All donations from each week benefit local food pantries.

Bayne and Sachs are still looking for people who wish to volunteer for this season. When Bayne and I chatted via email last week, all days were still available except for Wednesday and Feb. 11. Email here if you're interested in cooking. (1354 W. Wabansia Ave.)

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Melissa McEwen (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
