On Monday we asked that you not take screengrabs of your smartphone apps to let everyone know how cold it is out there. All you need to remind you of that is to step the hell outside. Besides, that time it takes you to fumble around for your phone is time you could better spend bundling up.

The cold weather will stick with us through Saturday but you need to be very mindful of the wind chill factors today, which will make your outdoor excursions feel more like a walk in the Twin Cities than the Windy City. The wind chill warning is in effect until noon Thursday and, at its worst, will make it feel like 40 below outside. Classes at Chicago Public Schools have been canceled today and the frozen tundra weather is mucking up commutes across the area.

This weather is why turtlenecks are always a part of a Midwestern wardrobe, folks.
