After days of speculation, the Chicago Bears landed their man.

John Fox's hiring completes a short and dramatic overhaul of the team's chain of command since team chairman George McCaskey and president Ted Phillips fired former GM Phil Emery and head coach Marc Trestman after a disappointing 5-11 season. McCaskey, who promised an aggressive search for both positions, hired GM Ryan Pace last week. After Fox and the Denver Broncos agreed to part ways Monday, Pace wasted little time to set up an interview.
insiders said that interview went well but there was still some hesitation Pace and Fox, so Pace flew out to Denver to continue discussions. Fox was evidently pleased by what Pace had to say. Per NFL insider Jay Glazer.

Credit McCaskey for staying true to his word. Pace may still be a rookie GM, but Fox is a no-brainer of a hire and, if Pace's reputation as a personnel man is as his supporters claim, a return to glory for the Bears could be swift. This was an unlikely series of events that the Bears, uncharacteristically, were able to capitalize.
You meathead Bears fans can stop worrying, for a day at least.
