A staged reading, a musical theater favorite and a classic Beckett play all get stage time in Chicago this week.

The Black & White Ball
Catch a staged reading of FWD Theatre Project’s new musical venture, which revolves around Truman Capote’s high-society ball and the racial tension it spurred 1966 New York City. Plus, there’s wine involved. The show takes place Tuesday, Jan. 20.

FWD Theatre Project at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., 312-773-9463 or online.

West Side Story
Drury Lane does classic, well-known musicals right, and West Side Story surely won’t be an exception. The show runs through Sunday, March 22.

Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, 630-530-0111 or online.

Waiting for Godot
Samuel Beckett’s elusive, entertainingly absurdist play—which follows two men awaiting the arrival of the mysterious Mr. Godot—is packed with Chicago stage stars, including the Court Theatre favorite A.C. Smith. The show runs through Sunday, Feb. 15.

Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave., 773-753-4472 or online.
