We're going to have to do a comparison of this month's weather with last year's "the sky is falling and it's frozen and jagged and may cut us" panicky, depressing climes. As we head into January's home stretch we're basking in the glow of some mild but gray weather. We have precipitation in the forecast, mainly rain and freezing rain turning into snow by the afternoon but the highs will remain in the mid- to upper 30s. Those temps will hold and even improve by the end of the work week.
What polar vortex?
