The Devil Makes Three Offer An Evening Of Toe-Tapping Melodies

California-based trio The Devil Makes Three performed a spirited set Saturday night at the House of Blues to a sold-out crowd. The show was a mixture of authentic bluegrass mixed with lush and unique interpretations of metal power ballads and straightforward rock. The proliferation of genres and personalities of each member was on display from start to finish through their solid musicianship and deft handling of each composition. Guest violinists and cellists added to the dynamic repertoire that was both atmospheric and seriously infectious.

The group played tracks from their newest album, I’m A Stranger Here, as well as peppering selections from their older work throughout their set. The crowd on Saturday night proved that their ability to spin toe-tapping melodies and seduce their audience is part and parcel to their art form.

Their tireless devotion to their music will continue with multiple projects in the works including an album of a live performance, covers of songs by their many musical heroes, as well as creating a record label to showcase their back catalog and to release many other projects by themselves and others.

The Devil Makes Three is incredibly prolific and worth watching with their intriguing projects on the horizon along with their truly superb live shows. They are a wholly distinct take on bluegrass-rock that perplexes, stimulates and is totally irresistible.
