Emanuel Steps Up His Attacks On Garcia

If one needs any more signs that Rahm Emanuel is focusing his attacks in the mayoral race on Cook County Commissioner Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, look no further than the mayor’s most recent mailings.
The anti-Chuy mailings from Chicago For Rahm are starting to get comical. @Aldertrack pic.twitter.com/DLtNYHvDUi

What you're seeing here is Emanuel's campaign using a vote Garcia made when he was an alderman nearly 30 years ago as a campaign issue, while conveniently omitting the detail that the $13 hourly minimum wage Emanuel is championing will not take effect until 2019.
This is some Rahmsplaining on a level of "I was for it before I was against it." It also is another indicator the Emanuel campaign is taking Garcia's fundraising efforts seriously. Garcia's mayoral campaign is on pace to raise close to $2 million, mostly from five- and six-figure donations from teachers unions. This means Garcia could start buying television and radio airtime to run ads, an area of the campaign where Emanuel has held an overwhelming advantage.
If only the mayor's mailers weren't so comical.
