Music Video Of The Day: The Replacements 'Merry Go Round'

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 10, 2015 11:00PM

The Replacements are coming back to town at the end of April on their "Back By Unpopular DemandTour," and we are very excited by this news. The band reunited in 2013, a feat that seemed not just unlikely but impossible when Riot Fest invited them to play a few shows, and that has blossomed into occasional festival appearances by the band in the two years since.

Now Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson are climbing back into the van (OK, probably not a van but a really nice bus) for a string of Spring tour dates and will be in Chicago playing The Riv on April 29 and 30. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. through both Etix and Jam, so get those fingers ready to refresh those browsers at that time since the shows are certain to sell out quickly.

To celebrate the news, here's the official video for "Merry Go Round," one of the over two dozen tunes they performed in Humboldt Park, last time they were in town in September of 2013.

Since you apparently can't watch music videos on television anymore, we'll showcase one here daily. There's no rhyme or reason, time or season, to which video we'll choose. Have a suggestion? Contact us at tips@chicagoist.com.
