The team behind Owen & Engine is opening up a new brew pub with a menu of Asian-influenced food at 2515 N. Milwaukee Ave. Eater reports it will be Southeast Asian, but then mentions a lot of Chinese and Chinese-American influences.

Taus Authentic has opened at 1846 W. Division St., which once housed Prasino. Urban Daddy calls it a “date fortress” filled with soft couches, fireplaces and a long bar in the middle. Eater has the menu. We are pretty eager to try the Bohemian Rhapsody dessert which promises lemon goat cheese kolachky, fruit dumpling and poppy seed ice cream.

Another big new opening is Brass Monkey in a massive space in the West Loop at 401 N. Morgan St. with a menu Zagat reports is Julia Child-inspired. Eater reports they’ll also be opening a microdistillery soon.
