How cold is it outside on this Sunday morning? My dog didn't even want to pee in the backyard. (She eventually did her business and is now looking like the most beautiful pitbull ever curled into the size of a medicine ball in front of the fireplace in the front room of Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters.)

Being El Jefe de Chicagoist does have its perks; working from the comfort of a warm home is one of them. I ran my weekend errands yesterday because I knew today would be one of those days. Expect highs in the low teens and bitter wind chills—wouldn't Chicago winters be tolerable without the Hawk. The overnight lows dip into the single digits, which will cause snow, canine fecal surprises and anything else exposed to this weather crumble into dust beneath your feet.

Things are expected to warm up a bit Monday and Tuesday—and by "warm" we mean highs in the low 20s—before Old Man Winter gets ornery with single digit temps Wednesday and Thursday.
