The snow has only begun to let up a little a few moments ago. While O'Hare recorded over five inches of powder early this morning, a lake effect snow warning is still in effect until 6 p.m. and has been dumping some thick flakes on neighborhoods close to the lakefront throughout the day.
All that snow means sluggish commute times on expressways with the evening rush still on the horizon.
Yikes. It's not even rush hour yet... #winter #chicago @WGNNews pic.twitter.com/tES5DTZN6k

And Streets and San is paying attention to the side streets. We've seen more salt spreaders and plows outside Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters today than in the rest of February combined.
We wonder if this would be happening if Rahm Emanuel was re-elected outright Tuesday night.
