We're two days into March and already things are beginning to feel warmer. That continues today with a perfectly acceptable forecast featuring light west winds, partly sunny skies and highs near 30 degrees.

That's the cool side of the pillow, as Stu Scott used to say. Here come the lumps. There's a very good chance your morning commute Tuesday will be sloppy and packed with delays. Snow will start falling overnight and continue into Tuesday, before switching to rain as the mercury climbs to near 40 degrees. That means our most recent pretty snow and the ice-hard crap beneath it will be melting and running into the streets. After that happens we have another round of arctic air arriving to freeze it all again. Come Friday, though, it looks as if Persephone will begin to break Hades' grasp on her and we could see some signs spring is on the way.
