Lincoln Park Zoo welcomed their newest, super adorable bundle of joy last month with the birth of an endangered western lowland gorilla on Feb. 24. We shared some precious photos and video of the new arrival last weekend, but we still didn't have a name to put with her sweet little face. No longer, today the zoo announced a name fit for such a cute creature: Bella.

Bella was named in honor of a member of the Regenstein family, who have been loyal supporters of the Lincoln Park Zoo for decades and gracious donors through their family foundation. If you've enjoyed visiting the gorillas at the Regenstein Center for African Apes before, their name might sound familiar.

The Western Lowland gorillas are severely endangered in their native land in central Africa due to habitat loss and poaching. Lincoln Park Zoo has been recognized internationally for their great apes program, including researchers studying and monitoring apes in the Goualougo Triangle, a remote region of the Congo.

We can't wait to see Bella soon at the zoo, although we more likely to call her adorabella when we visit. If you didn't catch the too cute video of Bella last week, check it out below.
