  • Rev. James Meeks pulled an about-face this afternoon and endorsed Mayor Rahm Emanuel in the April 7 runoff election. Meeks was incredibly critical of Emanuel in the past and considered his own run for mayor in 2010. [Tribune]
  • Gov. Bruce Rauner defended his choice to hire Beth Purvis, a Chicago charter schools executive, to join his administration, with a $250,000 contract, by stating she “is well worth every penny.” [Tribune]
  • Former State Rep. Keith Farnham was sentenced to eight years in prison on Thursday for sending child pornography through office computers. [Huffington Post Chicago]
  • Police seized $1.5 million worth of drugs, nearly $100,000 in cash and a large cache of assault rifles and other weapons during a raid on a home in Hermosa on Thursday. [DNAinfo Chicago]
  • Goose Island's Wrigleyville brewpub is returning for the 2015 baseball season. It closed last September, citing landlord issues and the location making less of a revenue outside of baseball season. [Guys Drinking Beer]
