Today might be the first day of spring, but we're already thinking about summer and the official opening of The 606. You can pitch in with the preparations for the park-and-trail network this Sunday, March 22, at March Your Art, the latest event in the Trail Mix series.
Drop in to the Kimball Arts Center (1757 N. Kimball Ave.) on Sunday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and make art with the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail, who will have a silk-screening station for creating BT (Bloomingdale Trail and Park) flags. Or, bring your own plain t-shirt so you can wear your art (and support) around town.
Opera-Matic will be on site to help make puppets, flags, kites and sound makers; they'll even help attendees in making their art movable. Guests can take their work home or contribute it for use at the grand celebration in three months.
All ages are welcome and the event is free. You can RSVP for it here.
