Extra Extra: O'Hare CTA Station Repairs Finally Happening A Year After Crash

  • Today is the anniversary of the epic train crash at the O'Hare Blue Line station a year ago, which caused millions in damages after a conductor fell asleep. CTA marked the occasion by announcing that the obliterated escalator would finally begin to be replaced this spring, with full completion expected by the end of the year. [Tribune]

  • Just two weeks after the St. Patrick's Day parades, the city's Greek community gets its turn to celebrate this Sunday. The Greek Independence Day Parade begins at 2:30 p.m. at Halsted and Randolph. [DNAinfo Chicago]

  • In case you forgot that Chicago sports teams have actually won titles before, a new exhibit at the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art in Elmhurst features championship sports rings from 11 teams including the Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls and White Sox. Missing of course is the Cubs. [ABC7]
