Video: Jeep Escapes Tow Truck, One Way To Avoid Parking Tickets

A Jeep owner was caught on film recently making one of the more brazen, and somewhat stupid, escapes to avoid one of the cruelest realities of city life— towing and tickets.

NBC 5 spoke to Chicago resident Tony Marengo after he captured the footage above of a vehicle getting towed at the Walgreen's parking lot at Clark and Ontario. Marengo heard yelling and when he went to his apartment window to investigate, he saw a tow truck with a white jeep hooked up to it driving off. The yelling came from a man still inside the vehicle attempting to get the attention of the tow truck driver. When the driver noticed and pulled over, instead of the jeep owner dealing with matters at hand he guns it, was able to get his vehicle free and speeds off into the night.

Although the tow truck driver likely has the vehicle's information, so it wasn't nearly as clean of a getaway as the driver clearly hoped, we still have to give the jeep owner props for having some mad chutzpah.
