Hubbard Street Dance Chicago just announced its 38th season, and we are excited to see that their much celebrated collaboration with Second City, The Art of Falling, will be making a return! To say that the collaboration exceeded expectations would be an understatement. It was one of the best shows—dance or otherwise—we saw last year (maybe even ever). With minimal props, the creativity on display was spectacular from creating the inside of an airplane to a working office. And that’s just the mechanics. The interweaved storylines showed us all the ways that humans can fall— physically or emotionally— and of course made us laugh throughout it all.

The Art of Falling will close out the season next summer in 2016. Other programs filling out the 38th season are this Fall’s Series dedicated to choreographer William Forsythe (Oct. 15-18), the Winter Series featuring the company premiere of Crystal Pite’s Solo Echo (Dec. 10-13), and the Spring Series next March.

The Art of Falling will run from June 9-12, 2016 at Harris Theater. For tickets and more information on the whole season, visit Hubbard Street’s website. Currently tickets are only available by subscribing to the whole season. Single tickets will go on sale at a later date.
