Embeya Saga Has A New Player, Chef Mike Sheerin Joins Team

The Embeya saga couldn't get much weirder, yet it has. First they unceremoniously fired part-owner and head chef Thai Dang, there was a mass staff walk out in protest and details emerged that the environment there had long been quite tense.

Now Eater reports that the replacement chef is none other than Mike Sheerin, who is no stranger to restaurant drama from being known as the "drill sergeant" of Blackbird to leaving Trencherman, the restaurant he opened with his brother. After he left the much-lauded Cicchetti last year, it closed.

But despite that, Sheerin is known for being a talented chef, so it is surprising that Embeya could acquire him on such short notice. Embeya is set to reopens next Wednesday, April 15.
