Bad news for Chicago pastry lovers- Jonathan Ory is selling Bad Wolf, his Roscoe Village coffee shop that's earned a cult following for its excellent pastries like buttery flaky kouign-amann. Ory told DNAinfo that he and his family want to move to Charleston, South Carolina and he'd like to spend more time with his kids. But it's not all bad news- he hopes to go into wholesale and build a commissary kitchen with a partner. "I'd like to see Bad Wolf pastries everywhere," he says.
But here's some good news for pastry lovers. Chef Iliana Regan's (Elizabeth) new popup venue Wunder POP and Bunny, her new "micro" bakery, will open on May 22, reports Michael Gebert at The Reader. Wunder POP's first popup will be ramen. Check out the Bunny menu here.
Chicago has plenty of different types of BBQ and this week we got another style- Dinosaur BBQ, which originates in Syracuse, New York. Thrillist has the details on the menu and interior of the two-story outpost in the Clybourne corridor of Lincoln Park.
