The Tinder Games: Is A Chicago Woman Using The App To Get Free Food?

Internet memes, like misogynists, have no shame. But still, we make them work for us, sometimes in amusing ways.

At least one North Side woman appears to be using the dating app Tinder to convince men to order her free dinners of pizza or sushi when the mood strikes.

That's according to a set of mobile screen grabs that have been making the rounds on viral news sites this week.

Referring to the practice as "the Tinder games," posts say women are boasting on social media about their ability to convince the men who hit on them via Tinder to order them pizza delivery and pay for it.

We're skeptical of claims that this is a growing trend, but it seems that at least one of the posts comes from a Chicago woman with a hankering for Lou Malnati's and Japanese takeout.

"Lou malnatis [sic] is closed can u maybe get me sushi instead," she messages one suitor, who's latest response is "I can't believe I'm doing this." She asks for a crunchy spicy tuna roll from "Nori on diversy," which is likely referring to Lincoln Park's Nori Sushi at 954 W. Diversey Pkwy, and he agrees. [Editor's Note: Although we do find her resourcefulness amusing, if someone (any gender) you're not even officially dating yet is trying to con you into sending them takeout, you might want to just say no. Or in this case, just swipe left. That said, we'd personally shoot for some better takeout options and go all the way if participating in the Tinder Gamers. Spicy tuna and ebi tempura? So basic.
