Dr. Kanye West Drops In To Rap With Vic Mensa, More News On His Involvement With 'Chiraq'

Kanye's busy day in Chicago continued yesterday after his SAIC commencement speech, when he stopped by and dropped a few verses with Vic Mensa while more news broke surrounding his possible involvement with Spike Lee's film Chiraq. Here's a roundup of where his travels took him.

The newly minted Dr. West gave an emotional speech to the graduates of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Luckily for us, someone grabbed the speech and put it up on Youtube. Regardless how you feel about Kanye as a person, we strongly encourage you to watch as he talks frankly about his art.

Kanye then headed to the University of Chicago, where he dropped in on upstanding young citizen Chance the Rapper's open mic event for local high school students. There, Dr. West performed his new track "All Day" and helped Vic Mensa perform "U Mad."

And despite published reports that Kanye would be the leading male in Spike Lee's new movie Chiraq, additional news confirmed he will not be starring in the film. According to Kanye's representatives:

"Contrary to published reports, Kanye West will not be starring in Chiraq. However, there are discussions for West’s possible involvement in the film’s soundtrack, schedule permitting."

The movie will be a musical comedy with a modern, Chicago twist on the Greek comedy Lysistrata, a play about ancient-Athenian women withholding sex from their husbands in protest of the Peloponnesian War.
