A new report analyzing airport arrival data shows O'Hare is one of the worst major U.S. airports to fly out of in the summer months, while Midway is one of the best.

The report by milecards.com ranks O'Hare as the eighth-worst airport out of the 50 busiest U.S. airports. Its on-time arrival rate was 71.9 percent over the past decade. In contrast, Midway was 10th on the list of best airports, with an on-time rate of 78.7 percent, though that rate is not much higher. The best airports in the rankings were Honolulu, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.

O'Hare was also one of the worst hub airports for Chicago-based United Airlines in particular.

Air travelers coming through Chicago are warned of the potential for delays caused by ice and snow in the winter, but according to this report 38 percent of the airports ranked have more delays in the summer than in the winter—particularly Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Orlando and three Washington, D.C. airports.
