Counter Culture Coffee's Chicago training center (177 N. Ada St.) will open to the public on Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of their Sustainable Spring events. The popular coffee roaster, based in North Carolina, aims to showcase the work of those promoting sustainability and green living in the communities around their training centers. In Chicago they've chosen Goose Island Assistant Brewery Manager Ian Hughes, who will present on the company's sustainability efforts.

The Washington Post calls Hughes "the man who wants to make sure climate change doesn’t ruin your beer." If you can't make the talk, check out this interview with Hughes at SXSW:

Counter Culture's training center also opens to the public every Friday at 10 a.m. for their weekly coffee cupping.
