The highly anticipated 606 trail opened this past weekend to throngs of eager Chicagoans ready to walk, bike, stroll and enjoy the latest major city park. The weather was perfect and overall most people seemed to have a wonderful time.
To document all the fun, Paul Smith, co-creator and board member of Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail, set up a time-lapse camera on the fence at one of the main access ramps located on Western Ave. Smith let the camera run from 8 a.m. on Saturday until around 8 a.m. the following morning, capturing the first full day The 606 was open to the public.
