All Ranch Restaurant: Trendy Or Terrifying?

By Melissa McEwen in Food on Jun 24, 2015 8:05PM

Soon an "all ranch dressing" restaurant will just be a relatively short drive or train ride away from Chicago. Twisted RAnCh will open in St. Louis at the end of the month. Eater reports that the restaurant will offer 18 versions of "ranch," like smoked paprika and cheesy bacon. My own opinion is that deviating from standard ranch makes it more like an "all mayo-based salad dressing" restaurant than an all-ranch restaurant.

If you're judging St. Louis right now, don't forget that you can find plenty of ranch-based foods in Chicago as well. Sadly we lost Roxie's By The Slice recently, which taught many of the uninitiated that pizza dipped in ranch is horribly delicious. But you can still find pizza with ranch in many places like Dimos where currently it's on the monthly special: The Kaner, which is covered with ranch, blue cheese and "drunken" buffalo wings. It's also on the their standard BBQChickenBaconCheddarRanch, which is self-explanatory.

You can also grab frites covered in pulled chicken and ranch dressing at Frite Street (3006 N. Elston Ave.) or potstickers with ranch, buttermilk and colcannon at Knife & Tine (1417 W. Fullerton Ave.).

Know any other awesome dishes covered in ranch you can get in Chicago? Let us know in the comments.
