With summer underway, the CTA is extending four bus routes to the beaches while cutting back on some of the routes that typically serve students.

The four bus lines that will run farther east than usual to hit the lakefront beaches are the 63rd Street bus, the 35th Street bus, the #72 North Avenue bus and the #78 Montrose Avenue bus, according to DNAinfo. Three museum buses will also have extended service hours in honor of summer. They are the #10 bus to the Museum of Science and Industry, the #124 bus to Navy Pier and the #130 bus that circles Museum Campus and Grant Park.

In all, 13 bus routes are seeing service increases while 13 other routes are seeing decreases, according to CTA authorities. The changes took effect Sunday, after the end of the public school year.

The CTA published a complete list of routes undergoing service changes online this week.
