Wilco Drops Surprise New Album 'Star Wars,' Download It For Free

We've already made note that Wilco is one of the acts we're most looking forward to seeing perform at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago this weekend. And now it seems we might actually hear some new material from the band since they just released their latest full length, Star Wars, with no warning.

We're not ones for hot takes, so we won't even attempt a review at this point, but we will say that upon initial listen the LP starts off with some more abrasive yet tuneful material before things slide into slower paced, yet no less taut, material later on. Overall, Star Wars seems to be a deft merging of the band's more freewheeling experimentalism and the band's pop smarts.
