Attend A Dinner Showcasing The Urban Agriculture Of The Plant

Tomorrow night, Saturday July 18 at 7 p.m. Nana (3267 S. Halsted St.) will host a four course dinner showcasing the urban agriculture and food businesses of The Plant. Executive chef Jeremy Kiens has created a menu utilizing ingredients from cheese distributor The Great American Cheese Company, produce from growers at Urban Canopy, indoor prawns raised by The Salty Prawn and tilapia and greens from Greens and Gills, which raises them in a mixed aquaponic system.

Menu:

Jalapeno poppers stuffed with crab, bacon and Great American Cheese triple cream brie, served with red pepper jam

Greens & Gills tilapia with tomatoes, pickled red onions, Urban Canopy arugula, Greens & Gills micro cilantro, salsa vinaigrette and roasted jalapeno vinaigrette

Broiled Salty Prawn shrimp with corn, Urban Canopy mustard greens, Tasso ham, blue corn grits and Salty Prawn shrimp nage

Chocolate crepe gateaux with Great American Cheese raspberry mascarpone cream, ganache and raspberries
