Navy Pier Launches New Free Outdoor Movie Night

Navy Pier is launching its lakefront answer to the Chicago Park District's longstanding Movies in the Park tradition this August: Movies on the Pier.

Movies on the Pier is playing a lineup of six traditional summer flicks, from Chicago classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off to Jaws, which could take on an even more mythical tone juxtaposed with the backdrop of Lake Michigan (which, for the record, has no sharks).

The movies will run Thursday evenings in August and September on the outdoor 'Skyline Stage'. It's free. The complete line-up is:

  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (Thursday, August 6, 8pm)

  • Top Gun (Thursday, August 13, 8pm)

  • Ghostbusters (Thursday, August 20, 8pm)

  • The Goonies (Thursday, August 27, 8pm)

  • Caddyshack (Thursday, September 3, 7pm)

  • Jaws (Thursday, September 10, 7pm)
