It could have been a major cat-astrophy when 13 kittens shoved into a duffel bag were left at the doorstep of PAWS Chicago's Little Village Spay and Neuter Clinic on July 19. Yet thanks to an astute volunteer who noticed the special package, the lives of the litter were saved.
Temperatures topped 85 degrees that day, and with little ventilation in the bag, the kittens could have easily perished if it weren’t for the alertness of the volunteer who found them and brought them in. The origin of the felines or who dropped them off has not been disclosed, but the critters are ready to move on and become forever pets for some lucky families.
In the days since, the 13 have regained full health and are currently in foster homes awaiting adoptions, which will take place in about two weeks, according to PAWS reps. Check out the adorable felines, such as Wolfman, Viper, Sundown, Stinger and little Cougar, below. And yes, they are all named for “Top Gun,” which makes them even more adorable.
