Burger Night at Publican Quality Meats has become a beloved tradition for Chicago's meat lovers. On Tuesday nights, May through September, PQM serves its signature, much-acclaimed burger. If that's not enough to get you in the door, throughout July and August they're hosting "Burger Battles," where two chefs face-off to create the best hamburger. This week's battle is extra special, because it includes culinary magician, fine food importer and truffle maven Roderick Markus of Rare Tea Cellar.

We were already excited to see what he'd come up with. Then yesterday, this video came out.

In it, Markus fondles a pile of truffles that would suffice as a mortgage for a mere mortal. If this is any indication, truffle-lovers are in for a real treat tomorrow.

We can't say we've ever experienced truffles shaved onto a burger, but if Markus's baller Instagram (which could easily be renamed trufflegram, in his case) is any indication, there will be savory shavings flying everywhere.

He's competing with Chef David Posey, most recently of Blackbird. Seats are first-come, first served, so be sure to get in early. The fun starts at 6:00.

Publican Quality Meats is located at 825 W. Fulton St.
