Riot Fest Aftershows Announced, Tickets On Sale Now

Riot Fest just announced their official aftershows Thursday afternoon, and there are a few unexpected heavy hitters playing some pretty small rooms. Double Door gets to kick the weekend off with a set from The Academy Is... on Sept. 10. It's been a while since the band played, so this sneak peek before their set at Riot Fest should prove to be a rowdy good time.
The bills in general (see full listing below) are strong, but there are a few real standouts. On Friday, Sept. 11, Drive Like Jehu plays Bottom Lounge, so expect that room's harsh acoustics to drip with blood as ears burst into flame under the band's brutal and raw rock.
Another bill sure to turn heads is Alkaline Trio playing with Naked Raygun at Concord Music Hall. The headliner learned their fair share of tricks from the opening act, and it should be a real treat to see two different generations of Chicago punk rock sharing the same stage in such a relatively small room.
Over the whole weekend though, Cobra Lounge is the big winner, with it's tiny music room hosting Taking Back Sunday, Babes In Toyland, and The Dead Milkmen on separate nights the weekend of Sept. 11 through 13. Tickets to all aftershows are on sale now.
Riot Fest takes place in Douglas Park Sept. 11-13, and tickets are still on sale.
