[Updated] Get Ready, Beer Geeks: Barrel Aged Beer Fest Tickets Going On Sale

By Anthony Todd in Food on Sep 4, 2015 1:52PM

Get your fingers poised over the keyboard, beer geeks, because tickets for the hottest beer festival in town are about to go on sale.

The Festival Of Wood and Barrel Aged Beers (FOBAB) is the nation's largest selection of, you guessed it, wood- and barrel-aged beers. It's held at the UIC Forum and hosted by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, and it's one of the rare opportunities for the public to taste all of these hard-to-find beers in one place. Accordingly, tickets usually sell out within five minutes.

This year, the event is on Nov. 20 and 21, and there are three sessions to choose from. There are 90 breweries, 300 beers, and a ton of ancillary stuff, like trying to spot judges from the The National Wood Aged Beer Competition, the awards given out by the festival. Tickets are $60, and you get 20 sampling tickets for your cash.
